Comments
This recording documents the last night of the second leg of the tour. The band returned again to Slane to play a second gig at this open-air natural venue. Music and vocals come through pretty well and loud, but kick-drum and bass are slightly saturated on occasion. All instruments and vocals are clearly audible, though. Like the recording of the first night in Slane, audience is too loud near the taper with loud cheering or applause. Considering the venue, sound quality is very good.
The show was filmed and later released on DVD ('U2 Go Home Live From Slane Castle Ireland'), although some footage from the show on August 25th was used too. Bono's daughter Eve came onstage to dance during Mysterious Ways. Highlights of the show are the emotional renditions of Out of Control (with references to the early days and the contributions of the band members' families) and Sunday Bloody Sunday (with references to the Omagh bombing tragedy).
