Comments
A brilliant recording of the first of two nights in East Rutherford (NJ, USA). It sounds very close and powerful (taper's location is pretty good), and the mix between all instruments and vocals is fantastic. Clarity is also great, and the only minor to remark is some stray voices (with a guy well audible a pair of times screaming between songs) and soft clapping near the taper in a few occasions throughout the show. This is the best of three recordings by Austin Tobin I have from the first leg of the Vertigo Tour, and of course, one of the topping tapes of the current leg. Some may place this recording between the range of "exc" and "exc+" sound quality, as it sounds quite strong and sharp, but the tape brings a bit of audience noise (name it "cheering near the taper").
The surprise of the night occurs when Larry Mullen begins with Vertigo after the last drum beats of "40" (without stop playing the kit), so the band launch again with a second take of Vertigo to close the show.
