Recording Equipment - History

OKM IIr + Sony TCD-D7 > DAT Master

Taper: U2Seek

Transfer: DTC-59 ES (optical) > Steinberg (faded & normalized) > CDR-M > WAV > CDWave (tracks) > Flac FrontEnd > FLAC (level-8)

Additional notes (by the taper): This one was hard work and it cost me some nerves... I have never been so close to the Vertigo stage (far right side) which was great but there were lots of security people all around me, one right behind me (you can even hear him on the tape), especially during the first half of the show when it was not dark yet. I had to change my position a bit sometimes or even bend down in order not to be seen.

Comments

An excellent recording with a very good overall punch. Sound quality is pretty good compared to other concerts of the second leg of the tour. Clarity and sharpness are both excellent. Not much audience noise near the taper, just some clapping and a few ocassional individual voices, so nothing too disturbing. So it sounds very solid and strong, to sum up. Sometimes there are stray volume changes, as mentioned by the taper, as he had to move or even hide the mics. Anyway, the final result is impressive in this great tape.

Usual snippets appeared here and there, with the band playing the standard setlist that would suffer minimal changes until the end of the European tour.
