Recording Equipment - History

DPA4061 (x2) > HEB Batt Box > Sony PCM-M1

Taper: Javi D.

Location: row 2 from the barrier, in front of the right speakers

Transfer: DAT Master 48KHz > optical transfer to WAV > Cooledit Pro WAV edit (convert to 32bit 44.1KHz at 999 quality, Hard Limiting + 6dB, convert to 16 bit w/triangular dither 1bit) > FLAC

Additional notes (by Javi D.): No EQ was performed in order to preserve the sound of the original DAT tape. Some may find it a bit bassy. Bass reduction or listening through headphones is recommended. In my opinion, anything done with DPA4061's almost always needs some bass reduction, and this is no exception.

Comments

Another fantastic recording to end with Javi D.'s trilogy (he also taped Madrid and Barcelona with the same gear and on the same taping location). As happened with his other masters, crispness is excellent, so music and vocals come through pretty powerful and clear. As mentioned above, the tape is somewhat bassy as no remastering was performed (although less bassy than Madrid and Barcelona, in my opinion). A real upgrade to other sources in circulation, as sound quality is stunning in this one.

This tape documents the last show of the European leg. The only surprise was "40" as the closing song.
