Taper: D.C.

Additional comments: Taper came in a little late, as the first minute of "City of Blinding Lights" is missing. Overall a great IEM recording from Bono's earfeed. There is more static on disc one, and very little on disc 2. Flaws to note:

D1T4 - 3 beeps early, some static
D1T6&7 - some static
D1T9 - last 30 seconds or so missing... disc switch?
D1T10 - some static & short dropouts
D1T11 - blips about halfway in for a brief time
D2T4 - series of beeps and 7 second dropout
D2T8 - a few minor static bursts

Comments

Fantastic concert, with some nice surprises on the set and lots of snippets here and there. Daniel Lanois appears again onstage, this time to play One and Ol' Man River with the band. Moreover, Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam also appears to sing Ol' Man River. The big surprise of the night is the inclusion of Discothèque in the set, as the first song after the first encore break. During the encore break, right before Discothèque, Pop Muzik is played over the PA, to remember the 'PopMart days'. Discothèque includes a little snippet of Relax (the song by 'Frankie Goes to Hollywood').

Sound quality is very good for a mono IEM, but the tape brings some minors, described above, such as some bleeps, IEM typical static bursts (mostly on CD1), a few large dropouts and some clipping here and there. Note a good portion of Love and Peace or Else missing, probably due to a mini-disc change. The output is clear but somewhat flat.
