Taper: Jeff Parkin
Location: in the ellipse
Taper's comments: I received a wrist band for the Ellipse shortly before U2 came on. It was fairly crowded, but not bad. Bono goes on for a while before Miracle Drug talking about Edge being from a different place, the speech goes nowhere. At the beginning of Love and Peace or Else I was standing really close to Larry and you can hear the drums before they go out over the sound system. During Yahweh the U2 sound system gave out a second of diginoise, so you are not hearing things there. What you will also hear is the road crew starting to break down the barriers during Yahweh, you can hear them drilling (unscrewing), so I moved away from there. Over all great show in Houston.
Comments
An excellent sounding tape of the third leg of the tour. Very clean and powerful sound that comes through pretty close and balanced, and brings minimal crowd interference. All instruments / vocals are well audible and upfront.
