Recording Equipment - History
OKM IIr + A3 (filter: Bass Roll-off settings @ -20dB) + Sony TCD-D100 (@ 44.1 khz -20dB AGC in LP) > DAT Master (Maxell 120')
Taper: Massygo
Location: midfield B-Spot, in between the line PA & Stage, centering left/right
Transfer: Sony DAT DTC670 > Dig i/o cableconnection > i/o Creative Labs > Cool Edit 2000 > CDWave > WAV > Flac FrontEnd > FLAC
Additional notes (by the taper): There was a lot of bass when U2's Crazy
redancka-remix was played, i do have 1 minor crack during that moment. Was
really a heavy situation.
Now, it's bin a while that a DAT-source came out from tapers on this tracker.
I'm i right this is the first one on the tour comming out? When i entered
the Veltins-field it was clear this should be though because of the shorter
distances from Stage to PA. So, I had a slight problem to find the right B-spot
in that center line. Was hard to take pictures from the spot that i used, yes i
did, check the 360° flickr-group for those (tags Gelsenkirchen). I added some
pics taken from the place i played statue for 2 hours.
OKM>A3>TCD-D100 combination creates a REAL 360° dimension-recording including
more stereo & surround. Anyway thanks to you all who were at the venue singing
allong and having fun.
Comments
This is the fourth source of the Gelsenkirchen concert. It's the weakest in terms of sound quality, if we compare it to my other sources of this show. It sounds pretty distant and somewhat saturated. Music and vocals sound clear but they lack crispness, and there's some crowd noise here and there with individuals audible.
After Elevation, Bono and the crowd sing again the chorus of the song. The Edge experienced problems with his guitar during Vertigo, so the band had to start it anew.
