Recording Equipment - History

SPCMC-4 + SPBB (bass roll-off 95Hz) + Sony MZ NH-600 (hi-sp mode) > Sonic Stage > Cool Edit > WAV > FLAC

Taper: gevenkaven

Additional notes (by the taper): recorded from 51st row, so it was wicked place to tape a show as almost on the top of the stadium, but after some remastering I think it sounds pretty good.

Comments

Very nice recording of the only Polish date of the tour. It sounds slightly distant, but the output is pretty clear with music and vocals well audible. There's a bit of crowd interference, but nothing too detracting.

Usual snippets appeared here and there, but note the 'Polish National Anthem', Mazurek Dąbrowskiego, during Beautiful Day. Right before and right after Stuck in a Moment, Bono and the audience sing 'happy birthday' to The Edge, although his birthday date is August 8th.

Everything explained on u2setlists.com: New Year's Day, U2's song about the Polish Solidarity movement, is especially played for its home audience. As the band play it, the audience becomes awash with red and white to make the colours of Poland's flag. Furthermore, Edge's birthday is in two days, and since there is no show on the 08/08, Bono takes the opportunity to sing tribute to him at this concert.
