Additional notes (by the taper): There are some cuts and plug noises on this recording, I'm really sorry, it was a very bad idea to put my PRE-AMP in my pocket.
Comments
Excellent sound quality in this first source of the first night at Wembley Stadium. Very rich and full sound overall, although tiny boomy due to strong bass. Bono's voice is slightly echoed on a bunch of songs but it gives a very nice live feeling. Crowd noise is minimal. As mentioned above by the taper, the only drawback to note are some dropouts throughout the recording, as he carried the pre-amp inside his pocket.
Usual snippets appeared here and there, but note the next: London Calling and London Bridge is Falling Down at the beginning of Beautiful Day, Acquiesce at the end of Vertigo, and a line of Norwegian Wood at the end of Mysterious Ways. This last song, Mysterious Ways, closed a main set for the first time ever.
