Recording Equipment - History

Sony ECM-717 + Sony MZ-R50 (mono mode) > Cool Edit > WAV > TLH > FLAC (level-8)

Taper: Musik_Maniak

Location: Immediate left side of soundbooth on field, mics just below waist level, approx. 18 inches apart

Transfer and Remaster (by nunomoreira1): original WAV file > Cool Edit Pro > CDWave Editor > Trader's Little Helper > FLAC (converted to 44.1 kHz, 16 bit with Fairstars Audio converter)

Additional notes (by the taper): There was an especially chatty guy by me, but for the most part the music drowned him out. Several people pushed past me and may have brushed the left mic. It was my first time using this equipment set-up in an outdoor, GA environment. The battery life is pretty amazing.

Additional notes (by Nunomoreira1): This recording was given to me by the taper to remaster. There was a little extra bass in the recording, so I removed that and did some cleaning of the sound. There's still some bass in the recording but the sound now sounds better.

Comments

This is the third source of the gig in Winnipeg. This is the weakest in terms of sound quality, in my opinion. It is an enjoyable source with good clarity and a loud capture of music and vocals. However, the output is a little harsh and somewhat bass-dominated. It offers a bit of crowd noise, but nothing too detracting.

The concert ended earlier than expected due to a curfew, so With or Without You was the last song played. This means Moment of Surrender wasn't played although it was printed on the original setlist.
