Recording Equipment - History

Master Cassette > 1st gen cassette (TDKSA90) > wt2496 soundcard > Cool Edit Pro > CDWAV > FLAC

Taper: J.M.

Additional notes (by S.Z.): Sound is what you would expect for this type of equipment, basically a recorder held in the air. But there is no hiss because the gen is 1st gen and it never touched the dreaded low bias tape which everyone back then used it because high bias was so expensive.

Comments

Sound on this recording brings good clarity. Music comes through quite powerful, but vocals are a little distant. Moreover, the recording is not very clean, being somewhat muffled. Audience noise is not an issue, being audible mostly between songs. Track divisions are absolutely seamless and there is no background noise. The only minor I detected was a noticeable edit after Out of Control, that only affects to crowd noise during the encore.

The band put on a strong performance, full of energy. I Will Follow was played at third position, and not during the final part of the set. Two thousand people attended the show, although the capacity of the auditorium might be filled with one thousand.
