Taper: JEMS
Transfer: Mike Ziegler
Additional notes (July 2009, by JEMS): JEMS master recording. This is a brand new transfer of the master cassette done in July 2009 and is the first time a transfer has been circulated directly from the master tape with no DAT or CDR generations in the lineage. This is an excellent sounding recording and a tight and energetic set from an up and coming U2 touring in support of their debut album Boy. Also of note this show is the second time they ever played I Fall Down live.
Additional notes (August 2011, by JEMS): Updated recording. This was one of the few early postings that had made its way out without being speed corrected. This newest posting here is corrected to run at the correct speed and should superceed all previous postings of this recording.
Comments
Very nice recording overall, an early master by 'JEMS', with no DAE in the process. Sound is quite crisp and clear, not perfectly clean, but excellent anyway. Bass is slightly lost in the mix on occasion. Crowd noise is not disturbing. This is the updated or speed-corrected version (August 2011 by JEMS).
About the minors, there's an edit after Out of Control that only affects to crowd cheering and applause. Another edit can be found after I Will Follow, that again affects only to crowd noise during the encore. The last edit is located before A Day Without Me, that kills crowd noise during the second encore.
