Comments
Very good sound quality overall in this tape. Music and vocals come through very clear, although there is some tiny clipping on the louder parts of the gig. There is an edit after Twilight that makes Out of Control to cut in, missing the very first seconds of the song. Note the tape is incomplete, as it is missing I Will Follow and "40". On the other hand, this tape includes the soundcheck of the same evening (very good sound quality, tracks 1 to 8 on CD2) and a pretty good soundboard recording of the Gateshead Festival (July 31st 1982 in Gasteshead, UK, at International Stadium) that plays way too slow (tracks 9 to 14 on CD2).
That day, War entered at 'number 1' at the UK charts, and after Party Girl Bono wants to celebrate it with a bottle of champagne. After some attempts by Bono, tour manager Dennis Sheehan and people from the audience (while Larry does some drum rolls), no one can open it, so the band go straight to 11 O'Clock Tick Tock.
