Comments

Excellent recording of U2's first gig ever in Japan. The tape is pretty solid and clarity is stunning, with minimal crowd noise, softly audible between songs. All instruments and vocals have been very well captured, and the mix among them sounds quite nice. Maybe the recording is slightly distant, but it still is fantastic, keeping all the punch.

Surrender includes some lines of The Midnight Hour. Two Hearts Beat As One includes lines of Let's Twist Again and Sexual Healing. Note there is a little edit after The Electric Co. that only affects to crowd noise.

I got this tape from Luca Biondi, webmaster of 'Going but Never Gone, MLK U2 Trading Site'. He sent me this recording in data DVD. The show came in one big WAV file, unedited and raw 48 kHz. I just splitted tracks with CDWave and converted them into lossless format (all the WAV files into FLAC files) with Flac FrontEnd, level6. I didn't resample anything to 44.1 kHz, so I just archived the gig in a data DVD, and didn't burn it on CDR. So if anyone is willing to trade, I have this tape in three different ways: one big WAV file (as received from Luca), a tracked version in WAV 48 kHz, and a tracked version in FLAC files.
