Comments
Quite rare recording. Sound is strong, but not very clear, I'd say a bit muddy. It seems an audience recording broadcasted in a french radio station. You can hear radio journalists talking in french from time to time, and even a jingle radio song a couple of times (the jingle is very Depeche Mode styled). It can be heard during the first 10/13 seconds of Two Hearts, then, the U2 song cuts in. They use to talk between tracks, but a few times they talk when songs are beginning (Seconds is a good example). The track The Unforgettable Fire lasts 08:18, but the song is only 05:03, the rest are the journalists talking about the band. The most annoying issue occurs during Sunday Bloody Sunday. At the "first final" of the song the jingle comes in, separating the re-start of the tune that U2 uses to do at concerts. Journalists also talk after Seconds, Bad and Pride. Jingle also appears after New Year's Day and after Gloria. Track 8, "40", lasts 09:17, but the song only is 07:06, the rest is the journalists talking again. Some popping can be heard in Gloria and "40", but it doesn't detract too much.
