Recording Equipment - History

Sony Walkman TCS-350 > Analog Master (Sony HF90 cassette) > Nakamichi DR-3 (azimuth, type I, dolby off) > RCA > Nomad JB3 (@44.1kHz) > DellHD > Audacity [fade in, volume boost 9.2/9.2dB (side 1), 9.2/11.3 (side 2), fade out] > CDWave > FLAC

Taper: Jennie

Transfer: Humbug

Additional notes (by Humbug): Average stealth audience recording. Tape flip after Sunday Bloody Sunday. Minor fluctuations here and there, and the odd brief cut, but a very listenable recording. Believed by the taper (my cousin Jennie) to be her master recording.

Comments

First of two nights at Brixton Academy in London. Sound quality is very good with a clear and solid output. Music and vocals come through pretty strong and there is not much crowd interference, although some individuals are audible here and there. There are a few minor hiccups on a bunch of songs. The tape seems to run slightly fast, but it represents an upgrade to what it's on circulation. Note it probably comes from the master cassette and probably was taped with a Sony Walkman TCS-350, but this cannot be 100% confirmed.

It seems the place was pretty small to see U2 in London, and there was a lot of pushing and hostility in the audience. Pride had to be stopped due to a fight in the front rows and some people climbing onstage. Then it was re-started.
