Additional notes (by MLK): This is a nice recording even if it is not on the same sound quality level of excellent UF recordings because there is a bit of hiss in the backgorund. Anyway the show itself is simply amazing and U2 offer a great performance tonight. Bono sings "Molly Malone" a cappella just before "Party Girl". Unfortunately last seconds of "Gloria" and "40" are cut off.
Comments
Nice audience recording overall that comes from the master cassette. However, it doesn't feature the complete concert, as it is missing a good portion of Gloria (the song lasts only 2:50) and "40". Sound quality is very good, as the output is quite clear and sharp, with the issue of being somewhat distant. Crowd noise is audible, but never overwhelming, as it is generally placed between songs. The real drawback here is that the levels fluctuate too much throughout the recording, like waves. This seems more or less to be fixed after The Unforgettable Fire. Note there is an edit after The Electric Co. that only affects to crowd noise.
Amazing Grace is played live by three bagpipers as the introduction, instead of 4th of July over the PA. As it was St. Patrick's Day, Bono sang after the encore break Molly Malone a capella.
