Comments

A very good sounding and crisp recording that is somewhat dominated by the bass. Overall sound comes through pretty strong, and vocals as well. Clarity is really good, and audience noise is audible, but not distracting. A bit of background residue (wavering sound) is noticeable in the quieter parts of the gig. Note that the sound wavers during the intro, and some bass distortion and kick-drum clipping during the louder parts of the show. Finally, there is a little edit before the encore that only affects to crowd noise.

Bono dedicates Pride to a girl called Beth Liberman, who had tickets for the show, but died earlier.

Final Notes: I'd say my two recordings from this concert come from the same source: "Realistic analog deck + mics". This is from a 2nd gen cassette, and Lift Yourself Up from a 1st gen cassette. Both sound really similar, but from some reason, the Pittsburgh 09-04-1985 title sounds crisper. On the contrary, Lift Yourself Up contains less problems of background noise or residue, and it is less afected than the other by the bass and kick-drum clipping.
