Comments

I received this copy from Diego Tena, who got it from Justin Cook. These are Justin's comments on this item:

The sound on the first two tracks is muffled and somewhat muddy. At 0:50 "I Will Follow", sound clarity improves considerably. There are a few fluctuations throughout the song, but by the time "Trip Through Your Wires" begins, the taper seems to have his mics in the right place and everything sounds good. There is a cut in the recording between "The Electric Co." and "Help" after which the sound is muddy again until Edge's guitar solo near the end of "Bad".

With the exception of the muffled portions noted above, sound quality is very nice for an audience recording from this era. Bono's vocals are a bit more prominent than the instruments. Some rhythmic clapping from audience members near the taper is audible on numerous occasions.

From 0:50 in I Will Follow, the recording becomes cleaner, with a very crisp and clear output. As Justin Cook remarked, Bono's vocals are more prominent than the instruments, but they are really pretty well captured. Music and vocals come through quite powerful, too. Crowd is certainly audible, but not too distracting, and I think they only create a very nice live feeling. In my opinion this recording merits an "excellent audience" rating, but I have to remark the flaws Justin Cook detected in his first "scan" on this show.
