Comments
Nice recording that offers a clear sound and a pretty good live feeling. Audience noise is minimal. Tape degradation occurs at 01:42 in Trip Through Your Wires. Very tiny pops happen between a couple of tracks. Charlie Burchill from local band Simple Minds came onstage to play guitar on "40".
The show was transferred from cassette to CDR by Justin Cook. Here go his comments:
I transferred this recording from cassette to CDR. Sound quality and clarity are very good. Audience noise is minimal, with only a few stray conversations being audible. Very few negatives to mention regarding this bootleg -- perhaps the only major one being a strange "whining" noise in the background throughout most of "Bad". This is not the same sound that often results from attempts at digital noise reduction (i.e. using Cool Edit). Rather, it is a squeal that is more constant in nature than the "bubbly" sound that is the end result of poor noise reduction. The sound disappears immedately after "Bad" stops, and "October" sounds beautiful. Strange, but certainly worth mentioning. I had to create the fades between "Running To Stand Still" and "With Or Without You" because of a break in the cassette -- only the first few notes of the synthesizer intro to "With Or Without You" are lost because of this. Also, there is some distortion during the extended outtro of "With or Without You".
