Recording Equipment - History
Aiwa CM-30a + Sony TCS 300 recorder > Analog Master (2 x TDK ADX-90) > WAV > FLAC
Taper: thomsa7
Location: Started off right side about 15 yards back and then moved after I Will Follow to a similar position but on the left.
Additional notes (by the taper): There is a bit of a story with this one - my
first ever stadium gig. Went through in the car with good
old bobbyfaethebarras - no tickets so had to buy them from a tout and paid £20
for a £14 ticket. Missed Runrig but heard them from outside and then Love &
Money. Recorded the Mission, the Pogues and U2. This recording has been around a
lot but a few people have asked me to upload
it here.
I have never really liked the recording but this is direct from the original TDK
ADX 90 tapes we used on the day. I have left the sound levels pretty much as
they were on the original but I have tried to take away the outside feel. Apart
from the first 3 songs where we got bounced about and had to move, I reckon this
is pretty clear and sounds nice through the headphones.
Comments
Bright audience recording, a second source of the Edinburgh gig. Music and vocals come through really clear and solid, sound is pretty full, with the only minor of some crowd noise. Moreover, note the tape sounds tiny thin as the output sounds slightly distant. Note a major dropout at 4:39 in Sunday Bloody Sunday.
