Recording Equipment - History

Analog 2nd > PC > WAV > TLH > Flac (level-6)

Transfer: stuartw - I got this show from the same taper/trader as the Arms Park, Cardiff '87 show. This was the last show of the European leg of the Joshua Tree tour, and Edge's 26th birthday. Out of Control makes its tour debut, as it was last performed on 7th July 1985. This was the last time the U2 covered C'mon Everybody. The tapes could be 1st gen but more likely 2nd. The taper had a habit of re-recording the shows to fit better on tapes to sell on his market stall.

Additional notes (by 'ildobro'): I've got the vynil sourced C'ork Connection', the 1st gen tape remastered by S. Vahey and now this one... but i'm pretty sure they're the same recording (you can hear the same screamers between songs). They all 3 are different in terms of sound quality because of the tape generation and/or the remastering process that was done by S. Vahey or by the bootlegger of 'Cork Connection'. I wouldn't be surprised if the taper could also be the bootlegger of 'Cork Connection' because it seems slightly clearer, so I presume the vynil was produced from the master cassette... but these are my suppositions.

Comments

This is a second tape of the Cork concert. This one offers the complete concert, but suffers a bit of a harsh sound, less crisp than 'The Cork Connection'. There are a few screamers and individual voices can be heard from time to time.
