Transfer: Scott Zumsteg
Speed Fix and FLAC'ed: Mike Duchek
Additional notes (by S.Z.): This is my version of Syracuse which is the same
source I had for Denver and Tempe. This originally came off a Sony crew VHS
video where just the audio portion was put to DAT. I have always had this
version so I don't know how it differs to others. Mine cuts in
the last minute of With or Without You. This tape has a little more high
end than Los Angeles but also a little bit more background mic noize as since it
was being used simply as a prop for the lighting guys, not a ton of effort was
done by Sony to make a a1 mix of it.
Additional notes (by M.D.): Scott's version, while being the best in terms of sound quality, was however incomplete and played too fast. Another version I had, "JT Syracuse" played at the right speed and was complete, so I decided to fix Scott's version, and add the missing portion where Scott's cuts out. I would rate Scott's version as A Soundboard and JT Syracuse at B+/A-. I first corrected the speed, then added the last part of the show where it faded out. I did no other remastering. This should therefore be the best version of this show out there.
Comments
Phenomenal soundboard recording that comes from a pro-shot master VHS. Clarity is fantastic and the output pretty dynamic and clean. Moreover, there's no light residue in the background in this version. Note that Bad fades in.
In Scott's version, With or Without You cuts out at 4:15. Mike Duchek added the last part of the song from another recording (lower in terms of sound quality), and included "40" and the outro from that "second source" to offer the complete show.
