Comments

Bright recording of an outstanding concert. This tape documents the second night in Hampton (VA, USA). Sound quality is pretty good, just somewhat flat due to the output being slightly distant, but sharpness still is quite nice. The setlist brings a bunch of surprises that make this gig really interesting to listen to. 11 O'Clock Tick Tock makes its début in the Joshua Tree Tour, being the first and only time it was played during the current tour. After In God's Country, Bono jokes about Larry's record collection when a youngster, being too bad, and particularly liking The Eagles. Then, the band launch into Tequila Sunrise, with Larry on vocals. Setlist also includes renditions of Out of Control, Lucille or Mothers of the Disappeared. Before Lucille, some roadies and techs, including Dallas Schoo, come onstage dressed as the Dalton Brothers.

Note that crowd noise is well audible during and after speeches, or between songs, but generally calm down when the band are playing. Some tiny skips occur a couple of times throughout the show. The most noticeable occurs around 03:11 in New Year's Day. All in all, sometimes the recording places in the borderline between "VG" and "Exc" rating.
