Additional notes (by kennerado): Here is a nice tape I got from my friend Sam. He told me he got this straight from the taper. Sound is pretty good, I would say very good to excellent audience. Audience chatter can be heard from time to time but its not really distracting. I sent the tape to boyacrobat/George who then converted it to wav and did some remastering.
Comments
Very nice sound in this recording with pretty good clarity. All instruments are well audible and captured, as they sound powerful. Audience noise is audible behind the music, with stray conversations and cheering near the taper, but never laying over the music. I have two recordings of this show, both from the same source. However, Stadtfelder's transfer sound to me slightly better than this one, with a more full output. This leads me to think that this probably comes from a higher cassette generation.
There's an edit in Bad at 07:39 that causes a feedback. Another nasty edit kills a big portion of Angel of Harlem, as the song only lasts 01:57. Last edit is noticeable after Love Rescue Me, affecting to the first notes of The Star Spangled Banner. A few other imperfections are audible (some high end distortion), but they don't bring any major problems / inconveniences.
