Speed-fix:
Mike Duchek - I downloaded
this from U2Torrents and noticed it played too slow, so I fixed that. I did
nothing else to this recording, although there are portions of the show where
part of the show is repeated (between songs only), I assume this was because of
the tape transfer.
The recording is extremely solid and clear. At a few times I heard what seemed
like a tiny bit of crackling during some very loud parts, and some noise in "People
Get Ready" which may have been the same thing. Also a short period of distortion
during "Van Diemen's Land" very short and same during "New Year's Day."
A wonderful first show in Rotterdam. This show to me seemed a bit more mellow
than other shows, with a tremendous vocal performance by Bono throughout.
Comments
Awesome sound overall. Clarity is fantastic in this impressive recording, with a powerful and close capture of music and vocals. Moreover, strong performance by the band. Audience participation is just perfect: people is noisy, they seem to be enjoying and having fun, they sing "40" loudly a couple of times during the show. Track-1 CD1 features a few tunes over the PA before the band take the stage. There is a very small edit after I Still Haven't Found, only crowd noise seems to be cut. Another edit occurs between New Year's Day and Pride, but only affects to crowd noise, too. Anyway, the sound on this item is outstanding, kick-ass quality.
