Sony D-6C w/ Sony ECM 909mic (recorded w/ dolby C) > Maxell MXS-90 (x2) -Analog Master-

Taper: madelf

Location: recorded in the 1st level off the floor about 15-20 rows up on Adam's side of the stage

Transfer: Analog Master (Maxell MXS-90 x2) > Yamaha K-222 (played back with no dolby) > Wavelab > flac frontend > make torrent 2 > Goldwave (Speed fix, re-index -by Mike Duchek-) > FLAC

Additional comments (madelf): My celebrity sighting of the night was Neil Young who was in attendance. He was starting a string of shows at the Orpheum Theatre starting in the next day or so. I know there are a couple of other different versions of this show flowing about but I have been told this is the best one. You can check out the samples and judge for yourself.

Additional comments (Mike Duchek): This one played too slow. The first part was a little off, and the middle and end were off by more. Given that the vocals but not so much the instruments were what came through, it was hard to get it just right. As I write this, I haven't finished listening to this one, but it sounds great, and it's a rare moment where you hear Adam, Larry and the Edge all talking or singing on stage at some point in the show.

Amazing concert with band and audience in high spirits. It was St. Patrick's Day (Irish holiday), and the band played Boston, so it was a big party. There were lots of festivities around the city because of St. Patrick's Day and U2's concert. Even local radio station WZLX joined them, as they gave 25 pair of tickets for the show to people holding banners or wearing clothes stating "WZLX Welcomes U2". More than 8.000 people turned out, much more than previously expected, so the Boston Gardens sorroundings were a total chaos, with traffic stopped.

The show is excellent with a few surprises, such as Dirty Old Town or Van Diemen's Land (for the first time during ZooTV tour). There were lots of improvisations, and even the band messed up a couple of times. A long rendition of Dirty Old Town was played with nice participation from the crowd, sung by Larry and Edge, played on the acoustic set. This is one of my favourites gigs of the first leg of the tour for sure.

Note that are several volume changes before Angel of Harlem. Overall sound quality is excellent, somewhat raw, but pretty good sound. Of course, this is an upgrade to the so-called "In Boston On St. Patrick's Day", not only for having a full lineage, but also in terms of sound quality.
