Taper: Malcolm Beaton

Transfer: from Analog 1st, Scott Zumsteg

Additional comments (S. Zumsteg): This should be a definitive version of it. Speed correction was done as it ran a little fast. For those that dont know how to fix speed, the smartest way is to "see" it, not try to listen for it. Larry always ran off a metronome, so for Zoo TV indoor I take the clear drum patterns of The Fly to match things up. For the perfect source you need to match up to a DAT source, so this is Glasgow vs Gent. Ran at a 102.30 ratio to correct it.

Comments

Pretty good sound quality in this tape if you don't mind a bit of crowd noise. Another nice gem transferred by Scott Zumsteg, which is a big upgrade to other versions in circulation of this show (I used to have one called 'A Place from Home'). All instruments are clearly audible, so the recording is very listenable. Audience noise is a bit intrusive sometimes, others it is just placed in the background. However, they usually shut up when the band are performing, so crowd noise is located between songs. Note there's a little edit before When Love Comes to Town so the song cuts in.

A pair of strange things happen in the show. Before Arms Around the World, we can hear Adam Clayton making a phone call, although it is pretty hard to understand what people are saying. Later, after Desire, the band launch into With or Without You, but it is stopped after a few seconds because Bono wants to do his phone call. After that, the song is started anew.
