Comments
This tape documents the first of two shows in Rome. It was taped with a DAT, but transferred from a first generation cassette. However, sound quality is excellent with a bit of crowd noise. Maybe this one is not as sharp as other Zooropa'93 excellent recordings, it is somewhat raw, but very solid though. All instruments and vocals sound very clear and upfront, and this is a real upgrade to the other source in circulation of this show, the so-called "MacPhisto Vs. The Pope".
Both shows in Rome were attended by 42.000 people, although the stadium capacity was limited to 35.000, so 14.000 combined tickets were put on sale illegally by the promoter. Note the rare appearence of Van Diemen's Land. It was the only time the band played this song during the Zooropa'93 tour. MacPhisto phoned to the Pope to enquire for his health and to ask for a confession for senator-for-life Giulio Andreotti, but he couldn't reach him.
One fades out at 04:07 missing some seconds of the song.
