Recording Equipment - History

2nd gen cdr from the master tapes > EAC > WAV > FLAC > CDR     (unverified)

These were the comments that the concert brought in a txt file, made by punkiku:

The lineage is not certain. I got the cdrs a long time ago, and was ignorant enough not to write down the lineage at the time. However, I am about 85 % certain that my cdrs are a copy of cdrs made from the master tapes. I have no recollection of the taper, other than that it was Finnish guy.

Comments

Very good recording overall of a very standard European show. This item brings decent clarity and crispness, with some audience noise. However, music and vocals come through quite well, with a slight hiss in the quieter parts of the gig. This seems to be a very energetic show, as U2 didn't play in 15 years in Finland. Note that Morleigh Steinberg bellydanced for Edge as a surprise during Mysterious Ways.

The recording contains a few imperfections. There are dropouts at 05:48 in Last Night on Earth, 03:04 in New Year's Day, 4:39 CD1-track10 (first few seconds of All I Want is You), and 0:53 in Discothèque. A noticeable edit occurs at 08:00 in CD2-track2, that only affects to crowd noise before the Lemon Remix over the PA system.
