Recording Equipment - History

Sonic Studios DSM6s + PA-6LC + Sony TCD-D8 > DAT Master > egosys2496 (digital transfer) > PC > WAV > FLAC

Taper: JLW

Additional notes (by the taper): This is a different DAT transfer to replace my earlier torrent which had some diginoise glitches from the DAT tape. There are a few very minor pops at the beginning of this tape but I managed to find an earlier transfer I did before the tape had been corrupted further. My personal DATmaster from Popmart tour. Taping location was on the floor, center probably halfway back.

Comments

It's the final show of the third leg, and the band's last concert in United States until the New York's Irving Plaza gig, on December 5th, 2000, a few months before the Elevation Tour kicked in. Lots of Christmas stuffs were put on the stage, even Bono used a Santa Claus hat for a few moments. During Even Better, some of the crew people went onstage with muscle-shirts similar to Bono's. On the other hand, the band played a short full-band version of Stand by Me. One was dedicated to Kurt Cobain. In my opinion, the show is amazing.

Sound quality is excellent overall. Clarity is pretty good and the tape sounds strong. However, the recording lacks more bass due to the dome's acoustics. Although this seems to be the non-corrupted version, there still are diginoise glitches during the first three songs, and by Even Better things seem to be fixed.
