Recording Equipment - History
SP-CMC-2 + Homemade 9v 3 wire battery box + iRiver H120 (rockboxed) > Sony Sound Forge 8 (Raised Volume +32dB, +16 for Q+A, Fade in/out, splits) > Flac FrontEnd > FLAC (level-8)
Taper: Chris J.
Location: about 7 rows back and maybe 3 seats left of center
Additional notes (by the taper): Mics were clipped to the zip of a jumper: facing forwards and slightly outwards. I didn't get a chance to check my levels due to stealth taping this so I had to raise them later. Because of this there is a bit of a hiss on the recording. This is only as noticable on the acoustic part of the set. I had time to adjust my levels for the Q+A so I only needed to raise the volume +16db.
Comments
This recording features Sigur Rós playing an acoustic set during the little tour to promote their film 'Heima' on a few cities throughout the world, with the last track featuring the band and their manager a 'question + answer' with the audience.
Sound quality is really nice, with a clear and solid capture of both music and vocals. Crowd noise is only audible between songs. The only minor to mention is a noticeable hiss in the background during the acoustic set.
As mentioned above, the band was promoting the release of their film 'Heima', with a screening of it, plus this live acoustic set, and a 'q+a', at the Forum II in Melbourne.
